It all starts with your choice to get involved. Our actions today have the power to transform the lives of the neglected, vulnerable, orphaned and abandoned.

Sadly, as can be seen from the below statistics, the reality around abandonment is monumental.

• Around 3500 babies are abandoned annually.
• Only 1 out of every 3 abandoned babies are found alive.
• 65% of abandoned babies are New Borns.
• 90% of abandoned babies are under 1 year old.

There has also been a steady increase in abandonment since the start of lockdown in 2020, where;

• 26 places of safety took in 153 babies of which 88 were abandoned
• Social media news reported, 97 babies were found abondoned in unsafe places, of which only 45 were found alive.

Abba is registered with the Department of Social Development as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO930054823). This means that, unconditional donations to Abba in cash or in kind (eg material assets), qualify as a tax-deductible expense and that we are able to issue Section 18A certificates to taxpayers (natural persons, trusts, companies, or close corporations) who support our cause.
